URVEE SILVER JUBILEE SOUVENIR
25 YEARS OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND GOING STRONG
We are extremely proud and happy to announce that our NGO URVEE has completed 25 years in November 2018. We started our Social entrepreneurial journey in 1993 with a mission to empower needy women and girls with free skill development training in Screen printing, Paper Crafts, Book binding, Tailoring, Embroidery, Terracotta Jewelery making, Diya painting, Paper Quilling, Block printing, Watercolour Painting, Quilt-making from old sarees and even Home-composting! Urvee continues to work with its Mission with full zeal and vigour even today.
It’s been a 25 year long and amazing journey of two friends who wanted to give back to the Society they lived in and make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, mainly women who worked as maids in their neighborhood having very little or no educational assets. The goal was to teach a craft that was not only unique but also eco friendly in nature and earn from it during their free hours. Hand holding was provided to them at every stage from sourcing materials, creating products, finding customers and marketing, keeping accounts and maintaining stocks. Today URVEE stands proudly as a manufacturing unit of handmade paper products, cloth and jute products.
To celebrate and tell our amazing story we are bringing out a Souvenir which will indeed be a great source of inspiration and motivation to other like-minded individuals and talented women. The Souvenir will showcase the numerous interesting articles in newspapers and magazines about Urvee, pictures and articles of the Women who have benefited from our training, pictures of products we have designed and marketing successfully, pictures of various programs/events and workshops conducted by us, Awards received by us and relevant articles written by well- wishers who have supported us throughout this journey.
